Hi everyone! I totally promised you a Thanksgiving day recap on Friday and am just now getting it out. I am so sorry about that! This holiday weekend has been filled with family, friends and preparing content for the Christmas season that I totally missed that! I hope it isn’t too late, because I am sharing with you a recap of my Thanksgiving day as well as the table I decorated for our family meal.
I was so excited because it actually really felt like Thanksgiving this year, which is not always the case. The whole family including my grandparents and one of my cousins met at my parents house this weekend. It was so wonderful to have us all together and we spent most of the afternoon in stitches of laughter. I think the icing on the cake for me was the fact that my cousin was able to make it and we have always been close since I was little and it was so good to spend the holiday with him.
A tradition we started several years ago and have continued in our family is that the table is my domain and I am fully in charge of decorating it. Every year I like to try to come up with a new tablescape and I was so happy with how this years turned out. I already had most of the decorations from years past, I only had to add a few more candles and picked up the gourds from Walmart after Halloween for a quarter a piece except for the big one which was fifty cents. Can we say win? I was so excited, I love decorating and being able to create something beautiful on a budget is truly something I love. How was your Thanksgiving? Do you enjoy decorating your table for the family gatherings? If so, I’d love to see pictures!
